Education in Plymouth, New Hampshire

The SAU 48 District manages the schools within Plymouth. The town is home to only one elementary school, Plymouth Elementary, which teaches kindergarten through eighth grade. The town is also home to Plymouth Regional High School, which houses students from many surrounding towns as well. Plymouth State University is also located within the town, which enrolls approximately 3,500 undergraduate students every year, adding to the town's vibrant and bustling community.

Plymouth is home to an abundance of shops, from smaller locally-owned boutiques to larger national brands. Find stores such as Walmart and Marshalls off of Route 25 outside of downtown. Parks in Plymouth, New Hampshire 

The Plymouth Parks & Recreation Department manages three main parks within the town: 

  • Fox Pond Park - playground, hiking and biking trails, ice skating and snowshoeing in the winter
  • The Common - greenspace located in the heart of downtown, home to many annual events, summer concerts, and more
  • Riverside Park - amphitheater, water access/boat launch, greenspace, hosts many community events

Also located in town is Tenney Mountain, providing easy access to downhill and backcountry skiing. The resort also has a tubing park for those that would like the option of sledding instead of skiing. You can also enjoy the hike up Plymouth Mountain for some stunning views of the area. 

 

Things To Do in Plymouth, New Hampshire

Besides visiting the stores, restaurants, and parks in Plymouth, there are so many other things to do! For those interested in history, visit the Museum of the White Mountains or the Plymouth Historical Museum to learn more about the area and, at times, see work from students at Plymouth State University. You can also visit the Smith Millennium Bridge, a covered bridge built in 1850 that goes over Baker River.
